CURRICULUM

SKETCHING

Before starting on their drawing, students will learn how to sketch with the charcoal pencils. They will practice drawing light shapes, lines, and then simple figures. Once they get the hang of it, they can begin sketching out their step drawing.

COLORING AND BLENDING

Taking out the dry pastels, students will begin flat coloring their sketch. Blending the colors will come soon after to create a smoother look.

TONES

Students are introduced to highlights and shadows to add a realistic touch to their drawing. They are taught to add tones in appropriate areas and blend them in with the flat colors.

My experience teaching children has been wonderful. I love making personal connections with each child and helping them unlock their creativity and love for art."

EMILIA ESTRADA, INSTRUCTOR

Pastel Art for Kids opens up so many opportunities for younger kids and I admire its ambition to inspire kids. I have never worked with kids of such quantity, but now I love working with them because they're all super fun and creative. They truly inspire me and being with them made my summer a blast."
